The largest individual flower in the world, Rafflesia arnoldii, grows in the rain forests of Sumatra and Borneo. Its common name is:

This parasitic plant lives inside a vine, unnoticed until it pushes a bud out through the bark. The blossom is up to three feet across, weighing up to twenty-five pounds, and smells of rotting flesh. Very attractive to pollinators!
