Dianthus is a pretty little flower with a spicy scent, welcome in many gardens. One of its common names is Sweet William, but the Scots call it:
A) Bonny Betty B) Pink Lassie C) Stinking Billy ü D) Wee Willie Winkie
Some say it is named for Prince William, Duke of Cumberland. He fought the Highland Scots at Culloden, and showed no mercy. The Scots are careful not to honor him, and British historians voted him the worst Briton of his century.
