5. Mexican holiday

In Mexico, the 1st and 2nd of November (All Saints Day and All Souls Day) are the occasion of a Halloween-flavored celebration called the...

A) All Saints and Souls Carnival
B) Blessed Ghosts of Ancestors Feast
C) Carnival of the Spirits
D) Day of the Dead ü

The Day of the Dead is mainly a festive occasion. The dead are honored by visits to their graves, which are sometimes decorated and piled with offerings. The manner in which the holiday is observed varies somewhat from place to place in Mexico; some celebrants build shrines to the dead, others leave out bedding on which the spirits of the dead may rest, and still others dress themselves so as to resemble dead friends or relatives.
